Meet the Founder: Aurangzaib Chawla FCCA, MSc

Aurangzaib Chawla, known to clients as Zaib, is the Managing Partner & Tax Director at Lanop Business & Tax Advisors. A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) with an MSc in Entrepreneurship, he founded Lanop in 2009 to address a clear gap business needed commercially focused advice, not just year-end compliance. With almost twenty years of experience across the UK, UAE, KSA, Europe, and Pakistan, he advises entrepreneurs, SMEs, family businesses, and high-net-worth individuals on tax strategy. Clients value his direct, commercially grounded approach and his ability to assess decisions beyond their immediate tax impact. He engages with each situation as though the business were his own, which is why Lanop carries a client retention rate of close to 99%.

How Lanop Started

Lanop was founded in 2009 after Aurangzaib Chawla identified a consistent problem in the market: most accountants focused on compliance, not advice. Businesses were getting their returns filed, but not the guidance needed to make better decisions.

When our first office opened in Putney in 2010, the goal was simple: to work as a commercial partner, not just an annual reporting function. That meant getting involved earlier, understanding the full business context, and advising on structure, tax, and growth before issues arise.

With first-hand experience across construction, property, and e-commerce, the approach was shaped by real business challenges, not just theory. Clients were not looking for more reports; they needed clear direction on what to do and why it mattered.
